Lodging Property Achievement Awards
There is no cost to enter. Many of AH&LA's partner state associations also recognize their state's best and brightest stars on the local level. These state winners will be considered for the national honor. If your partner state association has a program which offers an award comparable to a national AH&LA award, your entries must be submitted through your state association and not to AH&LA directly. To check your state's requirements, see the drop-down menu on the on the Stars homepage. Click here for details on the Employee Awards.
Deadline for receipt of your nomination is February 17, 2010, and no extensions will be granted. Nominators of winners will be contacted in April, and winners will be announced during AH&LA's Summer Summit in June.

Awarded for programs that demonstrate that the individual property is responsive to the local community. Examples include campaigns to benefit local or national service organizations or charities, service to any part of the community through a special project, and joint undertakings with community groups for the benefit of the area.
Good Earthkeeping
Recognizes lodging properties that have developed a culture toward integrating superior environmental management practices that improve everyday operations and the bottom line, while maintaining quality service and meeting guest expectations. Winning applications will clearly show the organization's commitment to the success in achieving superior environmental success in two or more of the following areas: energy conservation, solid waste reduction, effluents and emissions, water conservation, purchasing, and business issues (e.g., guest demands, community issues, land use and development, training, and policy).

Prism (for Diversity)
Recognizes the programs, initiatives, and corporate culture that lead to an environment of inclusion amongst all employees and/or guests, regardless of race, gender, creed, or physical ability. Proven diversity outreach in terms of marketing, hiring, retaining, and promoting is equally as important as overcoming intangible barriers that lead to overall guest and employee satisfaction and recognition.
Special Events - One-Time Only and Ongoing
Awarded for programs or campaigns that demonstrate a creative approach to scheduled events, anniversaries, charity events, holidays, or special publicity events.
New: Technology Innovation of the Year
This new award recognizes a property that has used advances in technology to optimize its performance. Suppliers are also eligible and should use specific property-level case studies to illustrate the technology's success relative to guest service, cost reduction, and/or revenue growth in addition to why it is in fact innovative and how it can or will impact the industry at large. Entries will be judged by the AH&LA Technology Committee.

To check your state's specific requirements, see the drop-down menu on the Stars homepage.
