Regulatory

Regulatory issues affect your business as much as Congressional legislation.  The regulatory arm of AH&LA’s Governmental Affairs department represents the lodging industry before Federal agencies and acts as an information clearinghouse to assist members with specific compliance concerns.

Additionally, situations often develop that require the coordination of activity or lobbying between various businesses, coalitions, or trade associations. AH&LA maintains regular contact with businesses and other trade associations in a continuing effort to represent the common interests of the lodging and hospitality industry.

AH&LA also monitors the activities of federal regulatory agencies and several national codes and standards writing organizations. The association works in conjunction with various industry consultants towards establishing a favorable regulatory and business environment focusing on guest safety and services, building operations, security, fire protection, and risk management.
