Stars of the Lodging Industry
The Stars of the Lodging Industry awards program was created more than 40 years ago to recognize outstanding accomplishments in the lodging industry. AH&LA member properties are eligible to nominate one employee from their staff for Outstanding Lodging Employee, Manager of the Year, and General Manager of the Year. Properties may also enter their best public relations programs in five categories. Contact your state hotel association to see if they host their own awards program and obtain their entry deadline. For properties located in states that do not have hotel association affiliates, the national deadline is February 15, 2007. For more information, contact Kathryn Potter at (202) 289-3130 or kpotter@ahla.com.
All entrants must be from AH&LA member properties in good standing. For more information, go to the members only area.

The hospitality industry spends $3.7 billion a year on energy, yet much of this goes to waste. Demonstrate a commitment to the environment and your bottom line by participating in Good Earthkeeping:

Welcoming Service Animals
Many in the hospitality industry are not aware of the nature and extent of the various state and federal laws requiring them to accommodate disabled individuals with service animals. Recognizing the growing need for the lodging industry to be better equipped in accommodating service animals at their properties, the California Hotel & Lodging Association created a short video hotels can use to educate their staff. Funded by AH&LEF, master copies of the seven-minute video are available to entities that agree to duplicate the video and distribute it to their various constituents.
