Ashish Kale leads the APEC IT under Global Technology. His role is both strategic, and tactical business partnership to the COO for APEC and Continent Discipline leads. He is accountable for IT for APEC spanning 24 countries and 636+ hotels to drive the regional strategy and operational excellence through close alignment with the Continent Operations Team.
Ashish actively partners with the Global IT Disciplines to deliver technology solutions to comply with global standards as well as meet the business needs. He is a strong advocate of using local technology solutions whereever feasible to create a competitive advantage to hotel operations and owners. He partners closely with the Global Information Security team to ensure all IT related systems and applications continue to remain safe and secure. He manages a team of 11 Key leaders for APEC with an overall accountability of over 450+ field associates. People-development and career growth is always top of the list for Ashish, as a result he has been constantly achieving outstanding Associate Engagement results including field IT AES scores in excess of 90% even during the Pandemic. With Clustering as main operation module, he has managed to get 68% of the hotels in APEC to be part of the IT Cluster. He is also well known in the owner community in APEC as a trustworthy IT Business Partner, willing to help the owners to define the best technology solution for their brands while ensuring Marriott requirements and standards are not compromised in any way.
Being with Marriott for almost 25 years, Ashish is a true advocate of the Marriott culture and uses every opportunity to cultivate it both internally and externally to attract new talent. He started his Marriott journey at Renaissance Mumbai as an IT Manager, after which he moved to the Caribbean & Latin America to gain international exposure. He took up a Regional IT role after returning to Asia Pacific and grew his career along with the continent.
