Sales Engineer and Solutions Architect

Greg Dawes is a distinguished expert in optical fiber technologies with over 40 years of experience in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry. He is currently a Sales Engineer and Solutions Architect at Advanced Media Technologies (AMT), a leading value-added reseller and stocking distributor of telecommunications products and services.

Throughout his career, Mr. Dawes has demonstrated a strong commitment to developing innovative infrastructures across various sectors. He spent over three decades at Zhone Technologies, now Dasan Zhone Solutions (DZS), Inc., where he held positions ranging from Field Engineer to Instructor, and ultimately Systems Engineer. He is widely recognized as a subject matter expert and technology leader in the telecommunications industry. His contributions to optical fiber solutions earned him an induction into the International Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame.

An active member of Hospitality Technology Next Generation (HTNG) since 2003, Mr. Dawes has authored and collaborated on numerous white papers, best practice guides, technology guides, and case studies. He has also hosted and participated in various webinars on behalf of HTNG. In 2012, he co-founded the Fiber-to-the-Room (FTTR) workgroup and continues to serve as co-chairman, leading it to become HTNG's most prolific workgroup. He is currently the co-chair of the HTNG Infrastructure Community of Interest.

Mr. Dawes holds a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma. Outside of his professional endeavors, he values family time, particularly playing with his grandchildren, and enjoys staying active through walking and hiking in nature.
