AHLA LAUNCHES “SAFE STAY” FOR ENHANCED INDUSTRY-WIDE HOTEL CLEANING STANDARDS

WASHINGTON (April 27, 2020) – The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) today launched “Safe Stay,” an initiative focused on enhanced hotel cleaning practices, social interactions, and workplace protocols to meet the new health and safety challenges and expectations presented by COVID-19. Safe Stay will seek to change hotel industry norms, behaviors and standards to ensure both hotel guests and employees are confident in the cleanliness and safety of hotels once travel resumes.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 17, 2020) – Leading hotel CEOs met today with the White House to discuss urgent economic recovery solutions needed to protect millions of U.S. hotel employees and 33,000 small businesses as travel grinds to a virtual halt across the country.  From Main Street to major cities across the country, hotels everywhere are on the verge of shutting their doors in the coming days – many by the end of this week.

AHLA JOINS BUSINESS LEADERS TO DISCUSS RESPONSE TO CORONAVIRUS

WASHINGTON (March 4, 2020) – Chip Rogers, president and CEO of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), today joined leaders from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Travel Association, Airlines for America, and the National Retail Federation to discuss the potential impact of COVID-19 and the business community is responding. 

Rogers underscored the hotel industry’s commitment to the health and safety of our employees and guests, and encouraged travelers to follow CDC guidance on COVID-19 while recognizing that domestic travel is still possible.
