CHARITABLE AFFILIATE OF AH&LA LAUNCHES CAPITAL CAMPAIGN ‘OPENING DOORS TO OPPORTUNITY’ TO RAISE $8 MILLION FOR AH&LEF

September 27, 2016, Washington, D.C. -- The American Hotel and Lodging Educational Foundation (AH&LEF) has publicly announced a capital initiative that will provide $8 million in funds for academic and professional development scholarships and critical industry research. As of September 26 the campaign, Opening Doors to Opportunity has already received more than $6 million via 84 pledges from industry executives and leading corporations.

HOTEL, TRAVEL INDUSTRIES JOIN FORCES TO URGE CONGRESSIONAL ACTION ON ZIKA

Washington, D.C. – September 7, 2016 – The U.S. travel industry joined forces today, urging Congress to immediately approve emergency funding to address the increased threat of the Zika virus. Together, the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) and U.S. Travel Association sent a letter to Congressional leadership urging swift action to help halt the virus’ spread and assist the agencies dealing with its impact.
