Winston-Salem, North Carolina – August 15, 2018 – U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC-5) today toured the Kimpton Cardinal Hotel as part of the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s (AHLA) “Heart of the House” hotel tour program, which connects members of Congress with local hoteliers and employees in their congressional district. This allows congressional leaders the opportunity to hear directly from hotel employees about the industry’s impact on the local community and workforce development efforts.

Washington, D.C. (August 9, 2018) — The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation(AHLEF), the philanthropic arm of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), today announced $1.3 million was awarded via 420 scholarships this year – the highest amount ever awarded to students seeking a career in the hospitality industry. More than 70 percent of scholarship recipients are women, and more than one-third of the total recipients are minority students.

Washington, DC (July 19, 2018) - The American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) President and CEO Katherine Lugar and hotel industry employees today joined President Donald Trump and representatives from more than a dozen companies and associations at the White House to announce a workforce initiative to provide enhanced apprenticeship and work-based learning programs, focusing on continuing education and on-the-job training.

HOTEL INDUSTRY COMMITS $75,000 GRANT FOR LA OPPORTUNITY YOUTH TRAINING
