AHLA LAUNCHES ‘HOSPITALITY IS WORKING’ CAMPAIGN WITH $500K IN GRANTS

WASHINGTON (January 24, 2019) – The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) announced today the launch of the Hospitality is Working (HIW) campaign at the U.S. Conference of Mayors winter meeting. As part of the HIW commitment, AHLA’s foundation, the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AHLEF), will award $500,000 to community-based organizations in six key markets where the labor market is tight.

WASHINGTON (November 14, 2018) – A new report shows that over 50 percent of the Gen Z demographic—the largest generation in the U.S.—is interested in pursuing a career in hospitality. Commissioned by the AHLA Foundation and conducted by BW Research Partnership in collaboration with Hcareers, the study examines the perceptions, attitudes and career preferences of Gen Z as they gear up to enter the workforce.

During the summit, hoteliers will discuss the strength of the lodging industry, issues affecting it, and its significant impact on communities around the country.
